Chandelier Islands Provide Good Catches for Texas Bayfishers!!!!!

Captain Sammy Carver, Kevin and "SUGARBEAR" provided for a safe, enjoyable and very productive trip for the six of us.

When you're sleeping under a quilt thirty miles in the gulf, the first week in May, you know your captain wants you to be comfortable. The trout fishing reminded me of West Galveston Bay 35 years ago. You could drift a school of fish, pick up 6 or 8 fish then look for more bait and start the process all over.

The redfish were brawny and ready for a fight, now I ask you-----Don't you just love 25" plus redfish, 10-pound line and that little brown Loomis doubled up like a paper clip? There was no real "bait of the day". The prominent producers were the 52m's and tt26 and 11, although we did catch fish on Corkies, Dogs, soft plastics and spoons. We were blessed with fair winds, strong tides, and Sammy Carver putting us in the right place. Excellent trip----we've already booked for next year.
